Home Remedies For Pimples: Make Those Pimples Go Away!

Home Remedies For Pimples: Make Those Pimples Go Away!

This will be a boring post, but since I’m not sure everyone is on the same page, I’m going to cover some real basic stuff. I promise to increase the funkiness in the future.

Crazy Insight to Home Remedies For Pimples: Cleanliness!

You need to keep your skin clean… without obsessing about it. In fact, by NOT obsessing about it, it will stay cleaner because your pesky fingers are some of your worst enemies.

Some of these are obvious… some you may underestimate.

Keep your bed linens clean.

I once had a boyfriend who had a little problem with back acne. He swore he was doing everything he could and it wouldn’t go away. I asked him what he wore when he slept. He said just his boxers. I asked him how often he changed his sheets. He said every two weeks.

D’oh!

I suggested he buy an extra set of sheets, then wash all his sheets once a week. By changing to a fresh set every three or four days, you greatly reduce your skin’s exposure to dead skin, oil, cosmetics, hair preparations and dirt.

After about a month doing this his back acne had cleared up. Simple, yes?

Keep your hands away from your face or other affected areas.

They contain oils and bacteria that promote acne. Wash your hands frequently. I can’t stress it too much: Don’t touch your affected area with your hands. If you catch yourself smoothing away a bit of perspiration with your hand, you might consider gently rinsing your face with some water soon after.

Clean Gently and Naturally

Aloe is like an undiscovered super drug. Seriously. I just keep a blog all about the wonders of this stuff.

So clean yourself with a soap that contains aloe vera. Stay away from cleansers with sodium laurel sulfate. If you have a Wild Oats, Whole Foods or Pharmaca nearby, get your soaps from those kinds of stores. Aloe is an excellent wound healer and it will cleanse without making your skin want to fight you back like all those commercial chemicals.

Kiss My Face makes an excellent Aloe Vera soap.

Keep Your Clothes Clean

See the section about linen. It goes for clothes as well. And don’t make the mistake of thinking something that doesn’t touch your affected area can’t have an impact. You will inevitably track oils and dirty from part of your body to the other. So keep it all as clean as possible.

If you can, try not to use fabric softener. This is just another something to add residue to your skin. Hmm… I’m gonna go a step further. Just stop using that silly fabric softener, mm’kay?
