Home Remedies For Pimples: Make Pesky Pimples Go Away
I’ve slacked in my attempt to provide you with great home remedies for pimples. But I’m back and I’m eager to help you make those pesky pimples go away for good! I’ll do my best here, but even my best can’t compare to the thorough and innovative guide you’ll find here:
Acne Free in Three Days
So today I present you with three simple and inexpensive acne treatments I’ve used with some success:
Toothpaste can do much more than just keep your teeth clean and white. Although many people don’t view it as falling into the acne herbal remedies category, it does. A small amount of toothpaste placed on a blemish before going to bed can help dry it out more quickly. The best toothpaste to use is one that is mint flavored. Stay away from the colored pastes or those that have mouthwash in them. A natural toothpaste with real mint, fluoride and baking soda would be the very best. I think Tom’s of Maine makes one.
Strawberry leaves offer some extra benefits for women when it comes to treating this annoying skin problem. Home herbal remedies for pimples that use strawberry leaves simply require the woman to wash her face as she normally would and then lay the leaves on the areas where the blemishes are. The leaves have a soothing quality to them which can remove some of the swelling that often occurs with a break-out.
Lemon juice is something that can be found anywhere and has been shown to be effective for some in battling acne. When using lemon juice as one of the acne herbal home remedies opt for fresh lemons and squeeze them yourself. Apply the fresh juice to any blemishes. The acid in the juice will help dry the pimple more quickly and you’ll have a clearer complexion in no time at all.
I hope this helps! But I strongly suggest you consider the best guide I’ve ever seen on getting rid of pimples for good:

Home Remedies For Pimples: Oatmeal
Home Remedies For Pimples - Oatmeal!
Oatmeal! This low sodium, high fiber breakfast treat is great for you heart, your cholesterol, your muscles… and for treating your zits?
You love to eat it, but did you know it’s an excellent and soothing remedy for making those nasty pimples go away?
* Buy yourself some whole oats. I suggest some organic bulk oats, but plain old fashioned Quaker oats will do as well.
* Make sure the oats have no additives.
Important: You do not want instant oatmeal. You want the real thing. Again, you do NOT want instant oatmeal. Instant Oatmeal is loaded with ingredients that will counter the great benefits to your skin.
* Cook It Up:
Mix 1 part oats to 2 parts Water. So if you want about a cup of oatmeal, make it a half a cup of oats and a cup of water.
Stove:
1. Bring your water to a boil.
2. Add your oatmeal.
3. Drop the temp to about two-thirds.
4. Let it cook for about 5 or six minutes
Microwave:
1. Put the oats and water together in a microwave safe bowl.
2. Microwave it for about a minute and a half.
* Do NOT add anything to the oatmeal. No salt, no sugar… and if you add butter I’ll reach my hand out from this blog post and virtually slap your sorry ass. :)
* Let the Oatmeal cool for a few minutes. You still want it pretty warm for application, but don’t be an idiot and burn yourself.
* After it has cooled, gently rub the oatmeal into the target area.
* I suggest gently rubbing small amounts into the skin then completely covering the area.
* Let it set on the target area for about 15 minutes. If it is still warm, let it sit for a couple more minutes.
* Then wash your face completely.
Do this once every other day for 6 days, then everyday for a week. As long as you’re not being an idiot and obsessively picking at your pimples, this therapy will signficantly improve skin texture and greatly minimize the appearance of your zits.
I hope this helps. I’ll be back in a couple days with some slighly more funky home remedies for pimples than oatmeal. Oatmeal just isn’t the funkiest, is it?

Home Remedies For Pimples: Make Those Pimples Go Away!
This will be a boring post, but since I’m not sure everyone is on the same page, I’m going to cover some real basic stuff. I promise to increase the funkiness in the future.
Crazy Insight to Home Remedies For Pimples: Cleanliness!
You need to keep your skin clean… without obsessing about it. In fact, by NOT obsessing about it, it will stay cleaner because your pesky fingers are some of your worst enemies.
Some of these are obvious… some you may underestimate.
Keep your bed linens clean.
I once had a boyfriend who had a little problem with back acne. He swore he was doing everything he could and it wouldn’t go away. I asked him what he wore when he slept. He said just his boxers. I asked him how often he changed his sheets. He said every two weeks.
D’oh!
I suggested he buy an extra set of sheets, then wash all his sheets once a week. By changing to a fresh set every three or four days, you greatly reduce your skin’s exposure to dead skin, oil, cosmetics, hair preparations and dirt.
After about a month doing this his back acne had cleared up. Simple, yes?
Keep your hands away from your face or other affected areas.
They contain oils and bacteria that promote acne. Wash your hands frequently. I can’t stress it too much: Don’t touch your affected area with your hands. If you catch yourself smoothing away a bit of perspiration with your hand, you might consider gently rinsing your face with some water soon after.
Clean Gently and Naturally
Aloe is like an undiscovered super drug. Seriously. I just keep a blog all about the wonders of this stuff.
So clean yourself with a soap that contains aloe vera. Stay away from cleansers with sodium laurel sulfate. If you have a Wild Oats, Whole Foods or Pharmaca nearby, get your soaps from those kinds of stores. Aloe is an excellent wound healer and it will cleanse without making your skin want to fight you back like all those commercial chemicals.
Kiss My Face makes an excellent Aloe Vera soap.
Keep Your Clothes Clean
See the section about linen. It goes for clothes as well. And don’t make the mistake of thinking something that doesn’t touch your affected area can’t have an impact. You will inevitably track oils and dirty from part of your body to the other. So keep it all as clean as possible.
If you can, try not to use fabric softener. This is just another something to add residue to your skin. Hmm… I’m gonna go a step further. Just stop using that silly fabric softener, mm’kay?
